Together we grow to build a sustainable world

Capillucas Reservoir

We are an energy commercialization and generation company, part of the UNACEM Group, with origins in Peru and international projection. Our main function is to manage natural resources in a sustainable manner in order to contribute all our energy potential to the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN).

We began operations in 2010, assuming a leading role in the fight against climate change and contributing to a safe energy transition to renewable energies. With a diversified portfolio of technologies, we have two hydroelectric power plants certified as carbon neutral, El Platanal and Marañón, as well as a natural gas thermal power plant, Santo Domingo de los Olleros.

Purpose

We transform energy into solutions that build trust, enhance value, and radiate sustainability.

Aspiration

To be the leading sustainability reference in the electric power industry in Latin America.

El Platanal Hydroelectric Power Plant

This plant has an effective power of 227 MW and has been promoted by Peruvian investors since 1996, starting operation in 2010. It is located in the Cañete river basin, in the provinces of Yauyos and Cañete. In 2022, its energy production was 1041 GWh.

The El Platanal hydroelectric power plant consists of the Paucarcocha reservoir, the Capillucas reservoir and dam, an adduction tunnel, the powerhouse, the El Platanal substation, and the Restitución reservoir.

Marañon Hydroelectric Power Plant

This power plant complies with renewable energy standards and is sustainable due to its design that allows it to generate energy every day of the year. This contributes to the National Interconnected Electric System's security of supply. Our Marañón HPP takes advantage of the Marañon River waters at 2900 m.a.s.l., near the town of Nuevas Flores, province of Huamalíes in Huanuco, to develop 20 MW of effective power. In 2022, its energy production was 139 GWh.

Santo Domingo de los Olleros Thermal Power Plant

It is located in the district of Chilca, Cañete Province, 63.5 kilometers south of Lima. Strategically situated in the energy hub of Chilca, it is close to the Camisea gas pipeline and the facilities of the National Interconnected System transmission.

The plant has two generation cycles:

  • Single cycle: with a gas turbine generator of 192.8 MW of effective power, using natural gas from Camisea. It began commercial operations on October 19, 2013.

  • Combined cycle: consisting of a gas turbine, a generator, steam turbines, and another generator, with a total capacity of 297.3 MW of effective power. This configuration started operating commercially on March 25, 2018..

Solimana Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant

In November 2022, we received the final concession for the Solimana Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant project located in Camana, Arequipa. It has a capacity of 250 MW and more than 700 thousand solar panels. The development of this power generation project with renewable energy resources is a milestone that contributes to our commitment to accelerate Peru's decarbonization.
