Lima, December 2024 – Celepsa, a company dedicated to power generation and commercialization, and Minera Antapaccay, part of the Glencore Group, have signed a long-term contract to supply 160 MW of power and energy from renewable sources. The agreement includes the provision of I-REC certificates, which ensure that the energy supply comes from 100% renewable sources and meets international sustainability standards.

This contract represents a significant step in Antapaccay's decarbonization roadmap, which aims to reduce its industrial emissions by 15% by the end of 2026, based on 2019 levels. Furthermore, the company is targeting a 50% reduction by 2035, on its path to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The implementation of standards such as ISO 50001 will also be strengthened by this renewable supply, ensuring more efficient and sustainable energy management.

For its part, Celepsa continues to solidify its position as a strategic ally in the mining sector's energy transition. This contract not only supports the mining company’s sustainability objectives but also reaffirms Celepsa's commitment to the development of clean energy and innovative solutions that drive its clients' sustainable growth, reducing carbon footprints and promoting a cleaner future.

We are proud to be strategic partners with Minera Antapaccay in this important step towards decarbonization, ensuring their operations are powered by 100% renewable energy that meets the highest international standards. At Celepsa, we aim to enhance our clients’ competitiveness and sustainability through our renewable supply,” said Eduardo Rivas, General Manager of Celepsa.
