Independence Day is typically one of the busiest days for local tourism. According to the National Chamber of Tourism, a reactivation of local tourism is expected this year, with figures comparable to those obtained before the pandemic.

Cañete, a province located 144 kilometers south of Lima, offers a variety of activities to enjoy during this long holiday, including adventure sports, archaeological sites, gastronomy, and more. Gloria Zea, Celepsa's Head of Community Relations, suggests three options in this regard.

Pacaran

A district with a beautiful square and a variety of activities. For example, in the square, you can enjoy different orchestras that perform on special dates, as well as the sale of delicious traditional desserts made from grapes and cassava, and especially taste the pisco prepared with uvina, a local grape, as well as artisan bread and freshly picked fruits from the field.
Those looking for adventure can go on ATV rides and stay in tourist-friendly houses.

Town of Lunahuana

If you want to clear your mind and enjoy nature while doing sports, Lunahuana adventure awaits you with canoeing and canopy, activities carried out thanks to the Cañete River's goodness. Trekking and mountain biking are also options if you prefer to walk and test yourself on the road.
You can also sample a variety of pisco, wine, and local cuisine, which includes river shrimp.

Incahuasi

Also known as the Inca House, this archaeological site is located 400 meters above sea level on the left bank of the Cañete River. As a control and supply center during the Tahuantinsuyo, this site is the largest example of Inca architecture in the province of Lima.

We have been generating electricity with the Cañete population for more than ten years, and we know that it is one of the favorite tourist destinations during these dates, not only because of its proximity to Lima but also because of the tourist attractions that it offers, making it a dream destination to enjoy with family and friends," Gloria Zea, Celepsa's Head of Community Relations, commented.
