Celepsa presents UNACEM with a "Triple C" certificate in recognition of its use of renewable energy by 2021.

The Peruvian electric power generating company was the first to certify that 100% of its production is of renewable origin, demonstrating its commitment to the country's decarbonization alongside its peers.

Celepsa presented UNACEM with the "Triple C, Celepsa Carbon Negative Commitment" certificate in recognition of its use of renewable energy in its operations in 2021.

"We have materialized our commitment to accelerate the country's decarbonization with a label that seeks to bring together all actors in civil society to take action in the face of the current Climate Emergency. In this sense, the certificate we are presenting to UNACEM today demonstrates our shared commitment to working together to build a more sustainable Peru. Starting with a preference for renewable energies, we can identify opportunities to help Peru achieve carbon neutrality ", said Celepsa General Manager Eduardo Herrera.

The cement company, UNACEM, certified to have used a volume of energy through water sources equivalent to 525, 525, 565, 585 kWh, measured at the points of supply during 2021.

Eduardo Sánchez, general manager of UNACEM, said he was pleased with the award because it reaffirmed the organization's commitment to sustainability. "We want to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and products. Consumption of renewable energy is another step toward achieving this goal." He finally made his point.

It should be noted that Celepsa is the first Peruvian electricity generator to have 100% of its production certified as renewable by AENOR.
