Celepsa inaugurates its updated Control Center as part of its corporate purpose together with representatives of the sector.

Lima, May 2023.- Celepsa, a UNACEM Group company, has just inaugurated its new Control Center, the largest and most modern in the generation sector, after the ribbon cutting ceremony by Jaime Luyo Kuong, Vice Minister of Electricity and Ricardo Rizo Patrón de la Piedra, Chairman of the UNACEM Group Board of Directors, on May 24.

This updated platform allows Celepsa to operate 250 MW, manage the dispatch of another 400 MW of hydro-thermal capacity to the country and be prepared for its future growth in renewable energy and storage.

"For us it is a great achievement to launch the new Control Center as its facilities are similar to the best control centers in Latin America, which will help us provide a better service hand in hand with digital transformation and innovation to contribute to the transformation of the energy system. This milestone also strengthens our purpose: together, we accelerate the decarbonization of the planet," said Carlos Tupac Yupanqui, Commercial Manager.

Additionally, Celepsa's Control Center provides specialized support to its customers. It monitors their energy consumption in real time, monitoring all electricity market operations and coordinating with COES and other market agents. All this in compliance with current national regulations with efficiency, safety and the highest quality standards.

It should be noted that this Control Center, located in Celepsa's offices in Lima, Peru, is a space designed under the ISO 11064 standard (Ergonomic Design of Control Centers). It is designed to maximize the experience, safety and efficiency of all personnel on duty, in accordance with the corporate safety culture: Life First.

Finally, the inauguration was attended by various authorities from the energy sector such as Mr. Jaime Luyo, Vice Minister of Electricity; Mr. César Butrón Fernández, President of COES; Mr. Juan Aguilar Molina, General Director of Electricity; Mr. Omar Chambergo, President of the Osinergmin board of directors, together with Ricardo Rizo Patrón, President of the UNACEM Group and Pedro Lerner, corporate General Manager of the UNACEM Group.
